Sport in the workplace: a real asset for corporate well-being!

Today, we're faced with a very simple fact: employees and bosses alike are keen to take up sport during working hours. The benefits of sport during working hours (stress reduction, improved well-being and health, collective dimension, etc.) are well established, but still too few companies offer it.

All company managers agree that they have no regrets whatsoever about integrating this type of practice into their structure , and they encourage other bosses to do the same.

We explain the added value here:

In today's health-conscious society, corporate sports will continue to grow in importance over the next few years. That's why today's business leaders are advised to take the plunge and embark on this adventure. Companies gain in productivity and employees gain in quality of life - a real win-win situation for both parties. Aware of this challenge, AZEOO now offers a personalized coaching application dedicated to corporate wellness.

A survey ("État des lieux, freins et leviers au développement de la pratique du sport en entreprise. Étude miroir salariés-dirigeants ") demonstrates several interesting points about this major trend:

  • 14% of managers say they offer sports activities within their company. The larger the structure, the higher the above-average percentages. They point to positive spin-offs such as improved team spirit, easier integration of new employees, etc.
  • 94% of people who take part in company sports are satisfied. The reasons for satisfaction are varied, but remain centered on the feeling of being in good physical shape, improving the atmosphere and having a physical outlet for work-related stress.
  • Of those managers who do not offer company sports, 75% say they have no plans to do so. There are a number of reasons for this, such as the fact that it is not the company's responsibility to take on this role, or the lack of infrastructure. We can then think of relaxation and alternative methods within the premises themselves (yoga, meditation, etc.).
  • Despite this, a proportion of staff do not wish to use the sports facilities on offer (15%). The reasons they give are either that the sports on offer do not correspond to their wishes (36%), or that the company interferes with their private sphere, or that they already practise a sport outside the company.

In conclusion, nobody loses!

While this solution may not suit everyone, it is still a real gain for a company, and everyone can benefit from it. However, don't lose sight of the fact that the "healthy " dimension of corporate sport is often not enough to convince employees to take part. So, the process of building a project like this needs to be fleshed out by offering them the chance to contribute. Whether it's through proposals, highlighting people, objectives, challenges or even votes to nominate representatives, all participation is welcome.
